The scene in the Bible: Song of Songs 4 "Behold, you are beautiful, my love; behold, you are beautiful. Your eyes are doves behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats that have descended from Mount Gilead." In this verse, the beloved (the man) describes the beauty of his love (the woman) using imagery from nature, such as doves and a flock of goats, reflecting the admiration he feels for her. According to Jewish tradition, Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) is attributed to King Solomon, who is also considered the author of other biblical books such as Ecclesiastes and Proverbs. Song of Songs was written with deep love and emotion and describes poetic dialogues between the lover and his beloved. While it can be interpreted as a romantic relationship between a man and a woman, Jewish sources understand it as an allegory for the love between the people of Israel and God. The book was written in Hebrew and reflects King Solomon’s deep connection to the Land of Israel, as it describes landscapes, agriculture, local plants, and animals. It is filled with references to the natural beauty of the land, including fruit trees, vineyards, mountains, and hills. Song of Songs is one of the five scrolls in the Hebrew Bible and is traditionally read during the Passover holiday, which symbolizes the Exodus from Egypt and the covenant between the people of Israel and God, reinforcing the connection between the content of the book, the Land of Israel, and the people of Israel.
